REPORTS TO: LAES CO-ORDINATOR
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The caseworker will support job seekers referred by the DSP to achieve
full time employment. As part of this role the caseworker will engage
with employers and collaborate with complementary programmes operated
by LAES Partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide a client-centred service to unemployed people referred by
the DSP.
* Meet clients referred by the DSP within **Apply on the website**
working days of referral.
* Develop an agreed Personal Progression Plan (PPP) with a client
within **Apply on the website** days of referral.
* Hold one-to-one meetings with clients at least every **Apply on
the website** days to support them with their job search.
* Support the client with CV preparation, job-search, and interview
skills.
* Identify additional training and other supports required by the
client to better access employment opportunities.
* Where a client remains unemployed at **Apply on the website**,
**Apply on the website** and **Apply on the website** weeks, hold an
in-depth review with the client and update their PPP.
* Carry out an end of programme review meeting with each client,
including a final revised version of the PPP.
* Maintain contact with clients who progress to employment for the
first **Apply on the website** weeks, including an engagement within 5
days of employment and every **Apply on the website** days thereafter.
During this period to be available to meet with the employer at the
request of the client.
* Use the DSP?s ACM system and any Cork LAES CRM system to record
client engagement and progress
* Develop and maintain working relationships with external agencies
and service providers
* Comply with all requirements of the LAES programme and associated
policies and procedures.
* Participate in the Employer Liaison Group to identify and act on
potential job opportunities.
* Engage with local SME employers to promote the services of the
LAES.
* Carry out any other duties at the request of the line manager.
EXPERIENCE/EXPERTISE/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
_ESSENTIAL_
* Three years working with individuals in a developmental/support
setting.
* Satisfactory level of education, e.g., level 6 qualification.
Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to progress to level 7
qualification.
* Strong IT skills, in particular with MS Office.
* Understanding of the issues surrounding the integration of
long-term unemployed people within the labour market
* Ability to work under pressure and to plan and prioritise workload
* Experience of working with disadvantaged adults in a development
capacity
* Knowledge of education/training programmes including labour market
initiatives
* Knowledge of the range of services/supports available to assist
jobseekers to access relevant employment opportunities.
DESIRABLE
* Level 7 qualification in Adult Guidance or equivalent.
* Experience of using CRM systems.
* Presentation skills
* Committed to personal and professional development
* Conflict management and resolution skills
